"I have a smallish painting by A. Bryan Wall with a provenance on the back of it. The provenance reads (including the source):

'A. Bryan Wall, a trustee of the Carnegie Institute, died on January 28, 1935 at the age of 73 years. Mr. Wall was a trustee of the original board since 1896, pupil of his father, Alfred S. Wall. His work won early recognition, and he was especially successful in the painting of sheep. His life claimed his attention to his art.

In Carnegie Institute he was a member of the Fine Arts Committee, and his knowledge and judgement were of great value in the choice of pictures to be purchased for the permanent collection. He was loyal to his ideals and devoted to his work. He was an intimate friend of all the exhibitors and jurors.
